PeerSigned

Terms & privacy

Plain words on purpose. Effective 2026. PeerSigned is a service of 3Rivers Enterprises LLC ("3RE"), an Indiana limited liability company in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

What this service is

PeerSigned arranges paid peer review. You give us the DOI of a public work you authored; we match it with qualified reviewers who read it and deliver signed, structured reviews. We are the matchmaker, the escrow holder, and the record keeper. We are not a publisher, not a journal, and not a party to what reviewers conclude.

Examined, not endorsed

A PeerSigned review is a record that qualified people examined a work and what they said about it. It is not an endorsement, a certification, a truth verdict, or a promise that any journal, employer, or institution will accept the work. Reviews may be negative. A negative review is the service functioning, and it is not grounds for a refund.

Public work only

We review works that are public and carry a DOI. No uploads, no confidential material, no drafts sent by email. If you send us a file anyway, we don't review it, we don't keep it, and no confidentiality obligation is created. Reviewers work from the same public record anyone can resolve.

The price and refunds

Checking a DOI is free. A public review order is $149, flat, for two signed reviews delivered within 10 days of payment. A private review order is $174; the difference goes to the reviewers, who give up the public credit a published review would earn them. You get a full refund if your paper is out of scope at prescreen, or if fewer than two scored reviews are delivered by day 10. Refunds go back to the payment method that paid. Refunds are not available because you disagree with what the reviews say.

Your payment is held, not spent: we don't treat the money as earned until both reviews are delivered. There are no recurring charges of any kind.

Public and private reviews

Reviews are public by default. Passing public reviews become permanent, public, DOI-bearing records attached to your paper's identifier, and once public they can never be made private, deleted, or edited into something friendlier.

You may elect a private review at checkout, before any review exists. Private means: no public record, no badge, no review DOI, and you agree not to represent the work as PeerSigned reviewed. We will neither confirm nor deny that a private review of any work exists, to anyone, including you in public contexts. A private review may later be made public at your request. The reverse never happens.

Who the reviews belong to

Reviews are the signed professional opinions of the named reviewers, published under their real names and ORCID iDs. 3RE hosts the record; it does not author, alter, or adopt the opinions in it. Reviewers anchor claims to quoted text from the work under review. If you believe a review contains a factual error, write to us and we'll route it to the reviewer; we don't edit reviews.

Conduct and AI use

Reviewers must disclose any AI assistance in producing a review. Undisclosed AI use is a conduct violation. We enforce on decidable failures: fabricated citations, claims that contradict the reviewed text, missing anchors, and reviews that add nothing beyond the machine baseline. We do not run AI detectors on anyone, and we don't act on accusations that can't be verified against a receipt.

Privacy

We collect what the forms ask for: your DOI, email, ORCID iD, and for reviewers a name, field, and one published work. We use it to run the service and for nothing else. We don't sell it, rent it, or share it except as needed to process your payment.

Payments are processed by Stripe; your card details go to Stripe, not to us. Site traffic is measured with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and no cross-site tracking. If you want your form data deleted, email us; note that public review records are permanent by design and are not "your data" in the deletable sense once minted.

Liability

The service is provided as-is. To the maximum extent Indiana law allows, 3RE's total liability for anything arising from the service is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We're not liable for what reviewers conclude, for how third parties treat the record, or for consequential damages of any kind.

Changes and contact

If these terms change, the change is dated here and applies going forward, never retroactively to reviews already bought. Questions, disputes, deletion requests: info@peersigned.com. Governing law is the law of Indiana; venue is Allen County, Indiana.
